MY.GAMES buys stake in Reaction Games

10/01/2020

MY.GAMES Venture Capital (MGVC), the investment arm of international video game brand MY.GAMES, has announced it is investing in Reaction Games, a studio that was formed on the basis of Alternativa Games. MGVC is helping the studio develop its mobile title Days After. The sides have inked a deal giving a minority stake in Reaction Games to MGVC with the option to buy a controlling stake.

Reaction Games was founded in 2020 as a mobile business unit of Alternativa Games, whose flagship title Tanki Online has 150 mln registered users across 50 countries. The new studio’s team was formed from Alternative Games’ staff, ensuring the same corporate culture and unique atmosphere the parent studio has been nourishing the past 14 years. Reaction Games’ main project is Days After, a mobile game about surviving in a zombie apocalypse. The title is currently in a soft launch phase.

“When we were launching Alternativa Games’ separate mobile business unit, we were first and foremost looking for a reliable partner to provide marketing resources and expertise, so we could focus on developing the product itself. MGVC has exceeded our expectations, and it has proven to be a flexible and highly professional partner. Now that we are close to the global launch of our game, we are confident that this cooperation will be fruitful,” said Maksim Osin, Reaction Games CEO.

Over the past three years, MGVC evaluated more than 1,000 partnership applications to close 30 deals, consolidating big success studios like BIT.GAMES, SWAG MASHA, Panzerdog, BeIngame, and others. Since Q3 2019, SWAG MASHA studio increased its revenue 1.7-fold as its game Love Sick: Interactive Stories became a top-5 mobile title for MY.GAMES as of Q2 2020. Tacticool (Panzerdog) and Guild of Heroes (BIT.GAMES) are also among the largest titles: in Q2 2020 they were MY.GAMES’ 7th and 8th largest mobile titles in terms of revenue. In September 2020, the investment arm of MY.GAMES rebranded from MRGV as it was known earlier to become MY.GAMES Venture Capital, as part of the company’s strategy on forming a single global brand.
