MY.GAMES to finance creating new studio for AAA shooter console project

The company will provide a complete business package to developers of a AAA shooter for consoles. MY.GAMES will provide the financing for the new studio and will help create the dream game

Mail.ru Group’s new global gaming brand MY.GAMES is launching a project for the best AAA shooter concept for consoles. The winner will receive all the financing required to create the game and start a developer studio with full legal and creative independence. MY.GAMES will handle the organizational and operational issues of launching the new business, allowing developers to focus on creating the game.

Teams can apply online to take part in this campaign before September 30, 2019. Participants will need to prepare a detailed presentation of the concept and introduce the team. Existing studios as well as developers looking for resources to realize their idea are equally eligible to apply. The only criterion is having at least five years of experience in working with AAA projects, preferably within a similar genre.

“We have decided to hold a competition on creating a AAA shooter not only to give developers the required financing, but also to help the best team become a full-fledged gaming studio and expand their opportunities,” said Ilya Karpinsky, managing director for the MY.GAMES investment division. “We understand that creative freedom and an individual approach to creating games are key elements in creating a successful game. This is why we want the teams to focus all of their effort on the project itself while we handle all of the organizational issues.”

This campaign is part of the MY.GAMES new global brand strategy on supporting developer talent. The volume of investment, which MY.GAMES will be allocating for the development of the AAA shooter game, will be established based on the winning team’s concept. MY.GAMES will evaluate every team’s game concept and their potential for making high quality games.
